Local dance companyPones Inc. is part of this summer’s Cincy Fringe Festival and will also perform as part of CrisisART Festival 2014, an art for social change gathering in Tuscany. Executive Director Kim Popa joins Robyn Carey-Allgeyer to talk about the history of the company and all the upcoming performances.
The Cincy Fringe Festival kicks off May 27, twelve days, 160 performances of 36 unique productions in10 different Over the Rhine locations. Fringe artists represent a variety of media including theatre, dance, music, poetry, visual art, and film, push the boundaries of the “norm” and experiment with style and content. Joining us to explore the 11nth anniversary Fringe Festival offerings are Unity Productions’ Jon Kovach, Nathan Singer and Regina Pugh from Performance Gallery, and Festival producer Eric Vosemeier.

There is a lot going on with Cincinnati’s Know Theatre – a production of Mike Bartlett’sBullis now running; another Fringe favorite, Petunia & Chicken, returns for two nights (November 10 and 11); and The Naughty List returns to Arnold’s Bar & Grill for the holidays. In addition, a change in the theatre’s leadership is beginning. Rick Pender is joined in studio by current Producing Artistic Director Eric Vosmeier and his successor, Andrew Hungerford, to discuss this big change and all the productions.
