The Mercantile Library might not quickly come to mind if you are thinking about new recipes to try out for your next family gathering, but it has a sizeable collection of cookbooks - more than 100, from as far back as 1878.

Leanne Brown’s cookbook, GOOD AND CHEAP: Eat Well on $4/Day, is a handy guide for anyone who wants to prepare nutritious, good-tasting recipes. But it is especially useful for low-income individuals and families. Ms. Brown believes kitchen skills, and not budget, are the key to great, wholesome food.  And she has made her book available to families in need across the country. 

The Findlay Market Cookbook showcases the benefits of shopping, cooking and eating locally—benefits to the environment, our health and well-being, our quality of life, the small businesses in our community. It supports Cincinnati food businesses and celebrates our local food ecosystem.

Popular food blogger-turned-cookbook author Jessica Merchant joins our Barbara Gray to talk about her love of all things food and her book Seriously Delish: 150 Recipes for People Who Totally Love Food.

  The food blog How Sweet Eats, averages 3.7 million unique visitors a month. Its creator, Jessica Merchant, also a contributor to Ree Drummon’'s Tasty Kitchen, and Relish magazine, has released her debut cookbook, Seriously Delish: 150 Recipes for People Who Totally Love Food. From Baked Breakfast Risotto to Roasted Pork & Pineapple Baked Taquitos to Peanut Butter and Chocolate Lover’s Brownies, the unique recipes in Seriously Delish will bring out the foodie in you. Jessica Merchant is in town this weekend for a book signing with Joseph Beth Booksellers at the Cincinnati Food + Wine Classic, and she joins us in the studio this afternoon.

Celebrity chef and one of the hosts of ABC’s The Chew, Carla Hall, was in town recently and came by our studios for a talk with Robyn Carey-Allgeyer about her background, her new book Carla’s Comfort Foods: Favorite Dishes from Around the World, and of course, Skyline Chili.

Comedian James Cunningham is the host and he’s on the phone with our David Delegator to talk about the show and the recently released Eat Street: Recipes from the Tastiest, Messiest, and Most Irresistible Food Trucks cookbook.
