In Concert: "Camelot"

Jan 11, 2013

Joshua Steele, the managing director of the Otto M. Budig Theater at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in Covington, is in the studio with Jim Stump to talk about the upcoming in-concert performance of the classic Broadway musical, Camelot. This production will feature the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and in the lead role of Arthur, Broadway veteran and longtime NKU theater professor, Mark Hardy. In-concert means there are no set changes and limited props and costumes, but the actors perform in character. This special production runs January 24 through February 3.

If you haven’t made New Year’s Eve plans quite yet, consider the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s gala A Night At The Moulin Rouge. Conductor John Morris Russell and the gala chair, Hengameh Nassef, join Brian O’Donnell to provide a preview of the evening’s festivities including a concert, dinner, dancing, and a silent auction, which includes a lease of a Mercedes Benz.

The Cincinnati Pops are gearing up for their annual Christmas concert, this year featuring award-winning singer Amy Grant. Conductor John Morris Russell joins Brian O’Donnell to talk about that concert, the recently released Home for the Holidays CD, and some of the special guests who will join the Pops in 2013 including The Chieftans, Patti Austin, Judy Collins and Mandy Patinkin.

Tom Steele, local singer/songwriter, jingle singer/songwriter, and Emmy Award winning composer, will perform a retrospective on his career called Young Forever at the Redmoor on Saturday, November 24. He spends a few minutes with our Anne Arenstein to talk about his long and varied career, and the impetus behind his upcoming concert.
