Cincy Blues Fest

This week on The Blues (April 4th at 11pm), you'll hear a number of musicians with tour dates in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Three acts have been signed for the Cincy Blues Fest on August 7th & 8th.  Tab Benoit, Tommy Castro and Samantha Fish will all be coming to Cincinnati to perform.  They'll all be performing on the main stage.

This local special starts off with Whiskey Shambles and Kelly Richey who'll both be performing at the Smokin' Hot BBQ event at Findlay Market on Sunday, July 27th.  The 2nd set of this evening's blues show features three musicians, Jarekus Singleton, Selwyn Birchwood, & Guy Forsyth,  who'll be playing at the Cincy Blues Fest on Friday or Saturday evenings, August 1st or 2nd.

Cincy Blues Fest is looking for volunteers to help out with a shift or two on Friday, 8/1 or Saturday, 8/2.

You can sign up via volunteers@cincyblues.org or leave a message for Marschelle Schauble on the Cincy Blues Society voice mail: 513-739-2583. More information is also on the Cincy Blues Fest volunteer page.

George Hibben, director of stein sales & development from the Rookood Pottery Co, is talking commemorative beer steins with Lee Hay. Again this year, the world-famous Rookwood Pottery artists have created a limited edition stein in conjunction with the Cincy Blues Society and this year's Cincy Blues Fest. The first run is for 300 steins and each one will be registered to the owner by the Cincy Blues Society.

Cincy Blues Fest

Thirty-thousand people are expected at this weekend's Cincy Blues Fest. Here's a preview of what you can expect on the 20th anniversary of the event.

Duke Robillard is no stranger to the blues business. For nearly a half century the guitar player has been building his fan base playing in bands like "Roomful of Blues" and "The Fabulous Thunderbirds." He's one of the headliners and will perform tomorrow night at Cincy Blues Fest. Spokeswoman Mary Beth Weaver says no matter when you come this weekend you'll be entertained on four stages at Sawyer Point.
