Cincinnati Pride Week

To kick off Cincinnati's Pride Week, the Cincinnati Men's Chorus will present two concerts at the School for Creative and Performing Arts on June 17 and 18 featuring predominantly African-American composers, performers and arrangers.

June is Pride month, and across the country, members of the LGBTQ community have been celebrating.   Cincinnati's Pride parade and festival are Saturday. They will go on despite the tragedy in Florida.

The Cincinnati Police Department is continuing work on security plans for the various Pride week activities, culminating with a parade and festival.

Hundreds of people gathered at vigils in Cincinnati Monday to remember the victims of the Orlando mass shooting.  There were multiple events, including on the University of Cincinnati campus in the afternoon, and on Fountain Square Monday evening.

One of the highlights of this year’s Cincinnati Pride Week will be the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus concert entitled Loud and Proud, taking place June 22 and 23 at the School for Creative and Performing Arts downtown. Artistic Director Casey Hayes is in the studio with our Jim Stump with details on this year’s program and the historical significance of this concert at gay rights.
