Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra

The inaugural Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra Summermusik Festival will feature a performance by the local gypsy jazz band The Faux Frenchmen on August 29.

The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra is changing up its performance calendar this year by presenting a summer festival of three unique concert series under the title SUMMERMUSIK.

The Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra is celebrating its 40th anniversary season with a wide array of beautiful music and special guests. Executive Director Thom Mariner is in the studio with Robyn Carey-Allgeyer to preview the upcoming season, which starts on Wednesday, October 9 and features Time for Three, the world’s first classically-trained garage band.

June 2 is the final concert of the season for the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. Conductor Mischa Santora and Executive Director Thom Mariner join Brian O’Donnell to talk about this special, patron-voted program.

Cincinnati composer Frank Proto recently completed a new composition, Concerto for Saxophone and Chamber Orchestra, commissioned by the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. The world premiere performance will take place on March 3 with special guest, acclaimed saxophonist Rick VanMatre performing. Frank Johnson welcomes the composer and performer in studio as they discuss the genesis of this piece and the upcoming premiere.


In Concert: "Camelot"

Joshua Steele, the managing director of the Otto M. Budig Theater at The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center in Covington, is in the studio with Jim Stump to talk about the upcoming in-concert performance of the classic Broadway musical, Camelot. This production will feature the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and in the lead role of Arthur, Broadway veteran and longtime NKU theater professor, Mark Hardy. In-concert means there are no set changes and limited props and costumes, but the actors perform in character. This special production runs January 24 through February 3.
