Queen City Opera Presents Rossini's "Cinderella"

Queen City Opera returns to the Arts Center at Dunham with a production of Rossini's "Cinderella."

In a rare feat, the Queen City Chamber Opera’s upcoming production of Wagner’s Siegfried, Act III will complete the entire Siegfried story, the first time this has happened in Ohio in 100 years. 

The next production from Queen City Chamber Opera is Handel’s "Israel in Egypt," happening April 14 and 17 at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center.

Isaac Selya, founder and artistic director of the Queen City Chamber Opera, joins Anne Arenstein to discuss their upcoming production of Mozart: The Abduction from the Seraglio, happening March 13 and 15 at the Arts Center at Dunham.

The Queen City Chamber Opera and Cincinnati’s Wagner Society are collaborating again this year on presenting a Wagner opera, Siegfried, Act 1. Joining Anne Arenstein to talk about this production are Isaac Selya of QCCO and Jim Slouffman from the Wagner Society.

Two of Cincinnati’s chamber opera companies will stage productions in October, something they are calling OctOperFest. Anne Arenstein welcomes representatives from two of the participants: Dr. Jennifer Jolley, co-founder and artistic director of Nanoworks and tenor Shawn Mlynek, a co-founder and co-artistic director of Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, discuss their respective organizations and these upcoming performances.

Music lovers will be excited about the collaboration between the Queen City Chamber Opera and the Wagner Society of Cincinnati as they present a staging of Die Walküre, Act 1 on May 23 and 25. QCCO’s Isaac Selya and the production’s director, James Slouffman, join Anne Arenstein to talk about the cast, how this piece was selected and the input from the Wagner Society.
