On October 14th, Drake's invites you to "Come Play" with them in Florence.
Drake's calls themselves "a free-wheeling, fun-loving kind of joint. A place to hang out and let your hair down. A place to let yourself go a little. A neighborhood spot with something for everyone." The location includes a restaurant, bar and dance club.
First and foremost, I would like to state for the record that I am NOT a restaurant critic. I lack the training and sensibilities to do justice to that role.
Secondly, I am not what you would call a ‘foodie.’ I can’t tell you what region a balsamic vinegar came from or whether my asparagus is organic or not.
I simply enjoy and appreciate really good food of most any kind and, to be completely honest, I realized that I have been a bit lax in the “Food” portion of the “Food, Family & Culture” focus for Local Exposure.
I was fortunate to meet with Lam Dang, marketing director and Thuy Cao, chairperson of the Asian Food Festival.
The festival features food from various countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, India, Malaysia, and many more. There will also be local craft and Asian beer, cultural dances, local bands and vocalists, Asian-inspired arts and crafts, children’s games, and fireworks by Arthur Rozzi Pyrotechnics on Saturday night.
