The Cincinnati Art Museum has a new Director. Cameron Kitchin will start October 1.
In a release, the Art Museum reports its board of directors unanimously chose Kitchin for the position. He comes from the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art in Memphis, Tennessee where he served as director.
After seven years Aaron Betsky is leaving as Director of the Cincinnati Art Museum. He says he will explore other academic and museum opportunities. "The museum now has the programming and staff in place, and the financial stability that will allow me to openly pursue my next position."
The museum says its Board will be setting up a search committee and Betsky will help pick his successor. Betsky, an architect, came to Cincinnati in 2006 from Rotterdam, where he was the Director of the Netherlands Architecture Institute.
