CityLink, Cincinnati’s one-stop location for a myriad of social and governmental services to assist residents in need, is one of the beneficiaries of this year’s The Rat Race, a 5k and 10k run and walk in around the Loveland Bike Trail. Barbara Gray welcomes in Megan Busch and Dani Watkins from CityLink to not only talk about the run, but about the work of CityLink and how the integration of services is helping some our poorest neighbors.
It’s growing very close to the serious running season, and there’s a new run on the horizon that’s part of a newly dubbed Christian Moerlein Beer Series and part of the ever-growing Flying Pig Marathonevents. The new Bockfest 5K will be part of the annual Over the Rhine beer festival. Iris Simpson Bush from the Flying Pig Marathon is in The Front Row with Betsy Ross to talk about all three stages of the Beer Series, some additions to the Flying Pig, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles for people of all ages.
Do you like to run? Do you like to row? Would you like to do both on the same day? You can on October 27 when the Clermont Crew presents the Head of the Hidden Dragon event at East Fork State Park. There is a 5000 meter rowing competition, then later there’s a 5K run and festival.
Tonight at 6:00 pm is theOne Fun Run or Walk 5K at West Chester Hospital, benefitting West Chester Hospital, Building Blocks for Kids and Maple Tree Cancer Alliance. Organizer Karen Cosgrove and cancer survivor Steve Hazelbeck discuss the event when they are in The Front Row with Betsy Ross.
