This Saturday night's Blues show, August 30th at 11pm, begins with Bonnie Raitt and vintage Ike & Tina Turner. The second set features Cincinnati native Noah Hunt, Larry Goshorn, and a song from Gov't Mule. The show ends with New Orleans vocalist Johnny Adams and a song from the Grammy-award winning album, Spirit of the Century, recorded by the Blind Boys of Alabama.
Legendary guitarist Jimmie Vaughan, along with blues vocalist Lou Ann Barton, will head a power-packed musical lineup for the 9th annual T-Bone Walker Blues Fest in Longview, Texas, on 9/12-13. The 2-day event features Jimmie Vaughan & his band along with Tony Joe White, Eddie “The Chief” Clearwater, Lurrie Bell Chicago Blues Band, and many others. Tickets are available on the festival website.
On this edition of The Blues, you'll hear from New Orleans legendary pianist Ronnie Kole who has a lively persona on stage. You'll also hear one of my favorites, the Monty Alexander Trio at Montreux in 1976 with Jeff Hamilton on drums and bassist John Clayton, "Nite Mist Blues." Plus Ken Nordine, Charlie Musselwhite and Gov't Mule.
This is a fun show with legendary blues musicians like John Mayall, BB King & Eric Clapton, and Bonnie Raitt. You'll also hear some favorites like George Thorogood & the Destroyers, Galactic from New Orleans, and Louis Armstrong.
