Rookwood Pottery fireplace on display at the Contemporary Arts Center

The Rookwood Pottery Co. will be part of the Contemporary Arts Center’s “The Living Room” exhibit when they provide an intricately designed fireplace using Rookwood tiles, going on display Saturday, May 18. Two of the ceramic artists behind this installation, both professors at UC’s DAAP, are Katie Parker and Guy Michael Davis, and they are with Jane Durrell to discuss this unique display.

Cincinnati Lawn Bowling Club

2013 marks the 100th anniversary for the Cincinnati Lawn Bowling Club, and they are spreading the word about this low-impact sport that has been around for centuries. Marty and Joe White from the club join Lee Hay to talk about the sport, their club, their playing location at the Little Miami Golf Center and to invite anyone interested in lawn bowling to join them for coaching and playing.

Geoffrey Rossano is the award-winning editor of the acclaimed book Hero of the Angry Sky: The World War I Diary and Letters of David S. Ingalls, America's First Naval Ace. As Brian O’Donnell learns, David Ingalls had Cincinnati roots: his mother’s side of the family were Taft’s. Ingalls died in 1985, but this book traces his incredible naval career in his own words.
