Around Cincinnati

Sundays at 7 PM

Greater Cincinnati has a vibrant arts scene, and Around Cincinnati keeps you up to date with local, regional and national guests.  Each week from 7-8pm on Sunday evenings, you'll hear from local contributors who with their guests explore a wide range of subjects from books & poetry, art exhibitions, theatrical productions, area choirs, concerts and musicians, as well as festivals and dance groups.  Some of the contributors include Rick Pender, Anne Arenstein, Jim Stump, Roberta Schultz, Jane Durrell, David Delegator, Barbara Gray, Dave Lewis, Ron Esposito, Stuart Holman, and Kelly Blewett.  Brian O'Donnell, Frank Johnson, Suzanne Bona, Howard Wilkinson, and Jim Nolan, staff members of Cincinnati Public Radio, also help out.

Dancing with Parkinson's

Cincinnati’s de la Arts Dance Company has started the Dancing with Parkinson’s program for patients with this disease and their caregivers. Elizabeth Grover, coordinator of the program, explains to Robyn Carey-Allgeyer that, while this is not a therapy or exercise class, it does provide movements that can be helpful to Parkinson’s patients.

Singer Nancy James and Maestro Carmon DeLeone are presenting two different programs celebrating the life and music of Rosemary Clooney. September 1 is a benefit performance at Seton Performance Hall. September 9 is a Xavier University Masters of Swing Series concert. Frank Johnson welcomes both musicians to the studio to talk about Rosemary Clooney and these events.

Sabina Barron from the Writers of Outstanding Words program brings several of her students in to read their poetry and also talks about the work of the organization.
