Work on I-275 bridge expected to last several months

Bridge reconstruction is expected to tie up traffic on I-275 for the next seven months.  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is overseeing the $6.7 million project on the Carroll Cropper Bridge between Kentucky and Indiana.

Starting Monday, traffic will be down to one lane in each direction on each span.

In late June or early July, work will focus on the westbound lanes and all traffic will be shifted to the eastbound bridge.  When that's done, KTC says all traffic will be diverted to the westbound bridge and work will continue on the eastbound side.

The project to put down a new concrete deck and install new lighting is expected to be finished by November.
