Waiting to Clinch

The Reds are hoping to wrap up the divisional playoff series with a win this afternoon. Last night Cincinnati lost to the Giants 2-1.

The second largest crowd in the history of Great American Ballpark went home disappointed.

Pat Ingram from Ashland, Kentucky said, "I was hoping they'd sweep the Giants. We were all hoping that."

The brooms came out early in the game as fans continued to be confident. Hot bats in the first inning and a one-hitter by pitcher Homer Bailey made for a tough third game for the Giants. But a passed ball and an error in the 10th inning put the Giants on top 2-1. Their catcher Buster Posey feels fortunate.

"You know we have to be really happy with the win tonight because we didn't swing the bats very well at all."

However Reds fans remain confident the team will clinch later today.

Larry Savage from Alexandria said, "It's a shame it came down to this. It was a good game. We'll get em tomorrow."

Game time is 4:07 today.
