Studies Link Political Ideology With Self-Control

You don’t have to be a fan of cable news shows to know liberals and conservatives have very different ways of looking at the world. Now findings from three separate studies link a person’s political ideology and their self-control performance, with conservatives demonstrating greater self-control than liberals.

Joining us for more details are the researchers who conducted the studies, from the University of Cincinnati Lindner College of Business, Dr. Joshua John Clarkson, assistant professor of Marketing; and Dr. Frank Kardes, Donald E. Weston professor of Marketing; and Dr. Edward Hirt, professor at the Indiana UniversityDepartment of Psychological and Brain Science.
