Stopping exodus of young families

Michael Keating

Cincinnati councilman PG Sittenfeld wants to know why young married couples tend to leave the city when they start having children.

His office is hosting a Young Families Roundtable Tuesday to talk about the trend.

"We want to hear from parents who have school-age children. Where do they see the gaps? What deficiencies do they see in the city being family-friendly? I think the larger goal is, if we want to achieve population stabilization and population growth, we have to hold onto those young families," he says.

The roundtable is at noon at City Hall.
