UPDATE: Pedestrian traffic will be allowed to cross.
The Roebling Suspension Bridge will be closed to traffic Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Crews will be installing new pavement on the Ohio side of the bridge.
The work is weather dependent.
The City of Cincinnati is also planning roadwork in that area:
Walnut Street will be closed between Second Street and Freedom Way beginning at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, through 7:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4 for bridge-related repairs and maintenance. Local access to Walnut will be allowed via Freedom Way. Motorists heading south on Walnut will be detoured east on Second, south on Joe Nuxhall Way and west on Freedom Way. Detour signs will be posted for motorists and pedestrians. Similar bridge work one block west on Rosa Parks/Vine Street is scheduled to wrap up by 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2. Rosa Parks between Second Street and Freedom Way will remain closed until that work is finished. Motorists heading south on Rosa Parks are being detoured east on Second Street, south on Walnut and west on Freedom Way. Motorists heading north on Rosa Parks are being detoured west on Freedom Way, north on Race and east on Second Street.
