One of the biggest names of jazz history is the late Ray Charles. Starting way back in the 1950's, Charles began to define and mainstream soul music and was a major influence on the music industry thereafter. Many remember him by his great hits including Georgia, Hit the Road Jack, I Can't Stop Loving You, and many more. Charles unique voice and piano style held a long lasting career spanning about 58 years and acquired an expansive list of awards, including 17 Grammys.

Commemorating the musicians lasting impact, The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's Jazz Ensembles will perform his music in his honor. Accompanying the bands on vocals is Billy Osborne, who was signed under contract with Charles for fourteen years. Osborne is well accredited and has paid tribute to Charles with his own vocals. The event will take place this Sunday at 7:00pm in CCM's Corbett Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $6 for students, and free for UC students.
