Possible Democratic Contenders For 2018 Statewide Races

Democrats have yet to announce their candidacy for state treasurer and auditor. Two are now reportedly considering them, including a former candidate for Cincinnati mayor.

Cincinnati attorney Rob Richardson has filed his official paperwork to run for state treasurer. Richardson says if he runs, he'll tout his work in securities litigation and as a University of Cincinnati trustee.

“My experience combines understanding of how to be fiscally responsible but also making key investments because you have to know how to do both in order to grow.”

Franklin County Auditor Clarence Mingo is running for state treasurer on the Republican side. Democratic former Congressman Zack Space has filed paperwork for state auditor, but could not be reached for comment.
