Pedestrian bridge girder set over Pete Rose Way

Construction crane operators lifted and placed a 180,000 pound steel girder into place atop support columns spanning Pete Rose Way Wednesday.

The girder forms the base for the new Pete Rose Way Pedestrian Bridge connecting the plaza level of Great American Ball Park and US Bank Arena to the street-level stairway.

Two 210-ton cranes took nearly an hour to lift and move the bridge girder into place above Pete Rose Way.
