A special Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police meeting will go ahead Monday night despite the firing of Former Chief Jeffrey Blackwell.

President Kathy Harrell said officers still want to discuss morale and staffing issues. Had Blackwell not been fired, they might have held a vote of "no confidence" in Blackwell.

Harrell says City Manager Harry Black, Interim Chief Eliot Isaac and Col. Dave Bailey will attend to answer police questions.

"It will give some answers to a lot of officers as far as where Chief Isaac expects to move the department forward, staffing issues, things of that nature," Harrell said.

Chief Isaac is well aware of the problems and mentioned them Thursday at the District One roll call, as reported by WVXU, and is working to solve them. He said an extra 24 officers would be out on the street this past weekend.

Harrell says she appreciates the public's support of the police department despite problems that led to the firing of Blackwell.
