ArtWorks and the Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corporationwill dedicate a mural Friday afternoon that pays homage to one of Cincinnati's oldest industries--brewing beer.

The five-story mural, on the side of the old Crown Brewing Company building at 131 East McMicken, depicts two workers crowning a pint of beer while standing atop a beer line reminiscent of the late 1800's.  It was designed and illustrated by Keith Neltner of Neltner Small Batch.

Brandon Faris of LEAPFrame partnered with Neltner to produce a short film titled "Art & Craft:   A Tale of Beer & Brushes."  The film chronicles the creation of the mural, the makers of beer and art, and the outlook these industries have for the city.  Rhinegiest, Braxton Brewing Company, MadTree Brewing and Christian Moerlein all share their own point of view.

The mural dedication is Friday at 5:30 p.m. followed by the film premiere at Moerlein's Bockfest Hall, 1621 Moore Street.  There will be a meet-and-greet with Neltner and Faris, as well as many of the ArtWorks apprentices that helped make the mural.
