Cincinnati Museum Center CEO Doug McDonald will retire January 15. He's led the museum since 1999.

McDonald says he'll stay on as a consultant to the Union Terminal restoration project that was just approved by voters in November. The Cultural Facilities Task Force says McDonald's retirement will not affect the project

During his tenure McDonald helped to pull the museum out of debt and to grow its endowment to more than $50 million.

He also oversaw the merger with The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

In a release, Museum Center Board of Trustees Chair Francie Hiltz says, “The restoration of Union Terminal and the transformation it will have on CMC is of the utmost importance to us. The Board of Trustees, and I, are most grateful for all that Doug and his team have done to make Museum Center a valued community asset and understand his desire to transition its leadership at this time.”

Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Pierce will serve as interim CEO.

Kroger

Kroger's chairman is stepping down.

David Dillon is retiring after 38 years of service. His final day is December 31.

Dillion served as CEO from 2003 to 2013 and chairman from 2004 to 2014. Prior to that, he held several executive positions at Kroger and Dillons Companies. Kroger merged with Dillons in 1983.

Kroger's Board of Directors is naming CEO Rodney McMullen to the additional role of chairman, beginning January 1.

In a statement, McMullen says, "For Dave, Customer first – which truly put our customers at the center of how Kroger runs its business – was more than a successful business strategy. It was a philosophy that he believed and lived through his actions every day..."
