More snow, less salt

Snow showers Sunday morning sent crews scrambling back out to clear roads in Hamilton County.

Unlike our television counterparts, we at WVXU don't often head out to the salt pile but reporter Tana Weingartner happened to drive past the Hamilton County Engineer's Office and caught a glimpse of the low reserves at the facility. This location has two barns, one for salt and the other for a sand mixture. Each is down to just a ring around the inside edge.

A stream of plows passes through the facility on snowy days. The salt loading process takes just a few minutes and the plows are back out on the streets.
