Lumenocity 2014 will be broadcast live and additional tickets available

provided

Cincinnati Public Radio and CET are partnering with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to provide live broadcasts of next month's Lumenocity 2014 at Washington Park.  It's scheduled for August 1, 2 and 3 and the free tickets for the music and light show with Music Hall as a backdrop went quickly.

“On June 9 when we opened up tickets to the general public, we had over 300,000 visits to the website,” said Chris Pinelo, Vice President of Communications for the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestra.  “There is an incredible amount of interest in this event, it is a free gift to the community and we want to make it available to as many people as possible.”

The Friday, August 1 concert will be broadcast live on 90.9, WGUC starting at 8:30 p.m.

“Just think of the topography of Cincinnati for a moment, and all the places where you have a view potentially of Music Hall, all the hills, all the rooftops in and around downtown,” Pinelo said.  “So we’re also hoping that for people who have a view of Music Hall, they’ll be able to tune into WGUC that night and hear the concert and be able to see it from a distance.”

CET (Channel 48) will have the second portion of the Saturday, August 2nd program starting at 9:30 p.m.  The Sunday event will be shown on large LED boards at Fountain Square and Riverbend.  All three nights will be streamed live on the Lumenocity website.

The Symphony announced Thursday it is making more tickets available for the performances at Washington Park.  Pinelo said an additional 8,300 tickets will be available through an online drawing.  That includes the addition of opening the dress rehearsal to a small audience on Thursday, July 31.

The deadline to enter the online drawing is Tuesday, July 15 at 10:00 p.m.  Winners will be notified if they were successful on July 21.
