It's an exciting time of year, here in town and all across the country as students are heading off to college. For many, this will be their first time being on their own. But mixed in with the excitement are some fears and concerns, for both students and parents. According to American College Testing (ACT), more than one out of four freshmen don't return to the same college for their sophomore year. Some transfer, some take a break, and many never return to school. Joining us to share some insights and advice on how students and parents can make that first semester of college life a success are Debra Merchant, University of Cincinnati's vice president for Student Affairs; Dr. Peter Gitau, vice president for Student Affairs at Northern Kentucky University, and Xavier University Associate Provost of Student Affairs, David Johnson.
