Home Furnishings Company Expanding Near CVG

Provided

Just days after Kentucky officials lauded DHL's expansion at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport for paving the way for more economic growth, another company says it will expand as well.

Wayfair Inc. is planning to build a nearly 900,000 square foot fulfillment center on 52 acres on Donaldson Rd. The company says the facility, to be called LogistiCenterSM at 275, will be its largest single development ever by developer Dermody Properties, which has two other facilities in the commonwealth.

In a statement, Wayfair says "The new fulfillment facility will complement Wayfair’s current distribution center in Hebron, allowing the company to increase its distribution capacity."

Wayfair Chief Administrative Officer Nicholas Malone says, “We look forward to creating local jobs as we build our fulfillment and service teams in northern Kentucky. Our new, state-of-the-art facility and the ability to tap into the region’s strong talent pool will help us deliver on the Wayfair promise of an exceptional, ecommerce shopping experience in the home space.”

Wayfair says it is one of the world's largest online destinations for home decor and furnishings. It includes brands such as Joss & Main, AllModern, and Birch Lane.

In an email to WVXU, Wayfair Public Relations Director Jane Carpenter wouldn't say how many jobs the new facility will create.

"We currently employ more than 200 people in our Hebron warehouse and photo studio. The new facility will be much larger (almost double) and allow us to increase our distribution capacity. We are just starting the hiring process and are not disclosing an exact number of new jobs yet."
