Brothers Diego and Julio Hallivis have started filming their sci-fi thriller "Curvature" in Fort Thomas, says Fort Thomas Matters.
I'd been hearing about the film for weeks, but producer Julio Hallivis kept putting me off – I'm guessing to break the news in Fort Thomas first.
Lyndsy Fonseca ("How I Met Your Mother") and Linda Hamilton (from the "Terminator" films and the 1980's "Beauty and the Beast" TV series) are the biggest names in the film.
Unlike most of the recent films shot here, "Curvature" producers are being helped primarily by the Kentucky Film Office. "Carol," "Miles Ahead" and George Clooney's "The Ides of March" worked through the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Film Commission.
At least part of "Curvature" will be filmed across the river, at the University of Cincinnati. I'm told producers needed about 60 extras for the UC scenes.
Diego Hallivis, who worked on "Burn Notice," is directing. His brother Julio is executive producer.
Their Hallivisbrothers website says:
"The Hallivis Brothers are a Los Angeles based director/producer duo that is comprised of two actual blood-related Mexican brothers that have been living in the United States (legally) for over 15 years. Julio Hallivis is an Executive Producer with a strong background in the advertising world. Diego Hallivis (the better looking one) has a post-production background that helped him jump into directing at a young age. The Hallivis Brothers’ first film “Game Time” was distributed by Lionsgate and their latest concept “Shifter” is getting a lot of attention and making a lot of buzz in the industry. They both work together on every step of all of their projects from the early stages of development until it reaches its final point of awesomeness."
Fonseca's credits range from "How I Met Your Mother," "Grandfathered," "Agent Carter," "Nikita" and "Hot Tub Time Machine" to "Desperate Housewives," "House," "Big Love," "The Young and The Restless" and "Malcolm in the Middle," according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).
Other cast members include:
Linda Hamilton from "The Terminator," "Terminator 2: Judgement Day," the TV series including "Beauty and the Beast," "Weeds," "Chuck" and "Frasier."
Veteran character actor Glenn Morshower from "Supergirl" (as General Sam Lane), "Scandal," "Moneyball," "X-Men: First Class," the "Transformers" movies, TNT's "Dallas" remake and "Friday Night Lights."
Alex Lanipekun from "Homeland," "24: Live Another Day," "MI-5" and "The Brothers Grimsby."
Noah Beanfrom "Nikita," "12 Monkeys," "Damages" and "Ed."
They plan to wrap on Friday, May 20, Julio Hallivis says.
