History and Future of Public Television

Public television started out as a means to take advantage of the new “electronic blackboard” to educate viewers.  Today, thanks to advances in technology, programming, distribution and production, public media has extended its reach, and its importance, as it continues to inform, as well as entertain and engage its audience. Public Broadcasting veterans Jack Dominic, CET executive vice president and station manager, and Dennis Haarsager, executive director  and president of Public Television Major Market Group, talk about the history and future of public broadcasting.
