In two weeks Cincinnati will welcome 500,000 its closest friends in what is the largest Oktoberfest outside of Munich, Germany. During the weekend of September 19-21, along 5th Street in downtown Cincinnati, people will:
- Drink 1700 barrels of beer (the size of a big swimming pool)
- Devour 20,000 cream puffs (equal to the length of eight Boeing 747's)
- Consume 80,000 bratwursts (the length of 29 Empire State Building)
Grand Marshals Nick and Drew Lachey will preside over the festival and lead the World's Largest Chicken Dance, a Cincinnati tradition since 1994. Click here for a list of past Grand Marshals.
Joey "Jaws" Chestnut will return to try and break his world record of eating the most brats. Last year he downed 70 in 10 minutes.
