On this page, you will find his weekly column, Politically Speaking; the Monday morning political chats with News Director Maryanne Zeleznik and other news coverage by Wilkinson. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Wilkinson has covered every Ohio gubernatorial race since 1974, as well as 16 presidential nominating conventions. Along with politics, Wilkinson also covered the 2001 Cincinnati race riots, the Lucasville prison riot in 1993, the Air Canada plane crash at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in 1983, and the 1997 Ohio River flooding. And, given his passion for baseball, you might even find some stories about the Cincinnati Reds here from time to time.

First Lady headed to Ohio on heels of Romney tour

First Lady Michelle Obama will hold Ohio campaign events Monday in Delaware and Cleveland Monday, two days after Mitt Romney makes stops in Lebanon and Portsmouth.

The First Lady will hold a noon hour rally Monday at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware and a 5 p.m. event at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland - both rallies aimed at encouraging college students to vote early and encourage their friends to do so.

But, first, Romney will be campaigning in Ohio Saturday.

GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney will hold a rally Saturday outside Lebanon's historic Golden Lamb Inn, which  has become a "must stop" on the campaign travels of state and national candidates - particularly Republicans.

The rally will take place on Main Street outside the Golden Lamb at 5:45 p.m. Gates will open at 3 p.m.

The Golden Lamb restaurant and inn is the oldest continually operating business in Ohio, dating back to 1803 - the year Ohio became a state.

It is owned by Sen. Rob Portman and his siblings and has, over the years, hosted 12 U.S. presidents.

The street outside the Golden Lamb was the scene of massive candidate rallies in the last two presidential campaigns - President George W. Bush in 2004 and John McCain and Sarah Palin in 2008.

The rally is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at two locations - the Lebanon GOP Victory Center at 30 W. Main Street and the Liberty Township GOP Victory Center at 4879 Mercedes Drive in Liberty Township.

Tickets may also be obtained online at www.mittromney.com/OH.
