Hamilton County residents have recycled more than 68,000 pounds of e-waste since the May 1 start of a computer and TV recycling program.  The Recycling and Solid Waste District's free drop-off program is open August 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the CSI/Republic Transfer Station at 10751 Evendale Drive.

The program won't be open any other Saturday in August, but it is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. through October 31, excluding holidays.   There will also be weekend collection times on September 8 and October 13.

You'll have to show proof that you're a Hamilton County resident such as a utility bill or driver's license.  Businesses, churches, schools and non-profit groups can't participate.

Acceptable Items Include: CPUs, hard drives, personal copiers, docking stations, monitors, scanners, printers, cellular telephones, televisions, hard drives, tape and disk drives, VCR and DVD players, VHS tapes, circuit boards, cables, main frames, servers, terminals, fax machines, PDAs, back up batteries, chips, keyboards, mice, modems, computer speakers, CD Rom drives and laptops.
