C-SPAN's campaign bus heading to Xavier campus Thursday

C-SPAN's Campaign 2012 bus - a sort of politics classroom on wheels - will visit the Xavier University campus Thursday afternoon.

The 45-foot long bus is a mobile production studio that offers presentations on the electoral process and C-SPAN's coverage of the election.

It has been on the road since August 2011, visiting major political events and 43 state capitals. Since 1993, it has visited middle and high schools and colleges and universities.

It has computer kiosks accessing C-SPAN's many websites; and visitors can test their knowledge of public affairs with quizzes, learn about the StudentCam and follow C-SPAN's Road to the White House.

More information on the bus is available at http://www.c-spanschoolbus.org

At Xavier, the bus will be parked on Herald Avenue between Husman Residence Hall and Fenwick Place from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday. All are welcome to tour the bus for free.

Howard Wilkinson is in his 50th year of covering politics on the local, state and national levels.
