Bullying Among Young Girls

NOTE: This show originally aired October 1, 2013.

Being targeted by bullies is a sad reality for millions of kids each year, boys and girls, though girls are more likely to engage in social alienation, and, increasingly, cyberbullying. A local research team has created a program for girls that is proving effective in reducing bullying. University of Cincinnati Director of Research & Evaluation, Dr. Keith King, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Statistician, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Dr. Ryan Adams, and Psychologist Lori Burns with the Northwest Local School District discuss the devastating effects of bullying, and ways to prevent it.

Maryanne Zeleznik is responsible for all news and public affairs programming at WVXU. She also hosts Morning Edition Monday through Friday.
