Blues show begins with Joey DeFrancesco!

This week on The Blues, which'll air at 11pm on Saturday, March 21st, the show begins with a song written by Jimmy Smith "Bayou" and is played by the great Joey DeFrancesco.  This is followed by Ruth Brown with a recording she did in 1989, "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" with Grady Tate on drums and altoist Hank Crawford.

The second set starts off with Tony Joe White & Waylon Jennings on a tune written by Jennings, "Shakin' the Blues."  This song is followed by tunes from Garland Jeffreys, Steely Dan, and the Honey Island Swamp Band.  Steely Dan will be touring this summer, and the closest they come to Cincinnati is a date in Cleveland on July 28th.

Eric Clapton begins the 3rd set.  He's got a new compilation coming out April 28th entitled "Forever Man."  After this, songs from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Cyndi Lauper and Peter Frampton.  And finally, the Blues will end with Delbert McClinton and Marcia Ball...both of whom will be playing at the New Orleans Jazz Fest this year...Delbert the 1st weekend and Marcia the 2nd.
