Blues with Lee Hay: 12.6.14 show

We're going to start off with a great vocalist who can really swing, Ernestine Anderson, and her version of "Please Send Me Someone to Love."  She's recorded over 30 albums and has been nominated for a number of Grammys.  This will be followed by the Monty Alexander Trio's 1976 recording of "Drown in My Own Tears" and the Blind Boys of Alabama.

There's a couple of Christmas songs in the show, too.  Aaron Neville's "Christmas Prayer" and Houston Person's "Santa Baby" with fun lyrics sung by Etta Jones.  Other vocalists during this blues hour include Hugh Laurie, Vinx, Ruth Brown, and Chet Baker.  And hats off to Tom Waits who'll be 65 on December 7th.  I included his song "Cold Water" from Mule Variations, his 1999 release.
