"Let the games begin," said Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones and Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig. Listen to them talk smack at a news conference Thursday as they announced the Kentucky Speedway'sFirst Top Cop Challenge, May 16th, as part of Police Memorial Week.
Officers representing Cincinnati, Butler County, Hamilton County, Florence, Lexington, Gallatin County, Oldham County and the Kentucky State Police will open the competition with a two-officer team.
Each member will race six timed laps around the speedway's 1.5 mile tri-oval. The winning team gets tickets to June's Quaker State 400 and the NASCAR Nationwide Series Feed The Children 300. Tickets will be given to needy families in the team's community. The highest-ranking officers from the fastest three teams will go onto the finals. The officer with the best cumulative time will be crowned Top Cop.
