APM Reports presents In the Dark, an examination of how law enforcement handled the kidnapping of Jacob Wetterling – a case that went unsolved for nearly 27 years, but had sweeping national consequences. From the creation of the federal sex offender registry, to the devastating effects of a man wrongly labeled a “person of interest,” the series enlightens the process in which crimes are – or are not – solved in their communities.
In the Dark is a series of five episodes, each focused on an aspect of the story followed by a discussion with APM Reports’ investigative reporter Madeleine Baran and APM Reports’ producer Samara Freemark, hosted by Lizzie O’Leary.
