Mark Heyne's journalism experience in Greater Cincinnati spans more than 20 years and includes positions with WLW, WHIO, WMOH and Traffic Watch/News Watch. He has received awards from the Ohio Associated Press, Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, The Press Club of Ohio, and the Cincinnati Society of Professional Journalists.

Heyne hosts Cincinnati Edition Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 pm and All Things Considered Monday through Friday.

City, County make progress on MSD workforce agreement

They've had their differences, but it looks like the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County are making progress on a plan to provide an adequate local workforce for the $3 billion project to modernize the Metropolitan Sewer District.

Miami raising tuition, going tobacco free

Miami University trustees have voted to raise tuition 1.5 percent, or $199, for the 2013-2014 school year for undergraduates at the Oxford campus. In-state students will pay $13,266 in tuition; out-of-state students will pay $29,056, also a 1.5 percent increase.  The Ohio legislature had approved increases of up to 2 percent, but the university says  in a statement "through efficiencies achieved on campus and an ideal to keep tuition affordable, the university aimed for a more modest increase."

Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky see 23rd straight month of rising home sales

The Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors says the local housing market shows no signs of slowing down.  Home sales continued a trend of reaching a 6-year high each month this year.  They were up  18.8 percent in May compared to a year ago.  Sales last month were up 17.7 percent compared to April. 

The average selling price last month in the Cincinnati area was $175,750 versus $158,017 a year earlier, an 11.2 percent increase.

Negro League star Thomas Turner passes away

Funeral services are this weekend for Thomas "High Pocket" Turner of Georgetown, Ohio, a star of Negro League baseball in the 1940's.  Turner died Monday at the age of 97. 

He played baseball for the Cincinnati Stars in 1936.  He played for his Army team and after that played professionally in Mexico.  In 1947, he played for the Chicago American Giants of the Negro League.
