NKU announces new athletic director

New NKU athletic director Ken Bothof was introduced today.

Northern Kentucky University says that Ken Bothof has been named the school’s Director of Athletics.  He'll start the job on Aug. 19.  Bothof comes to NKU from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he has served as athletic director since 2002.

Local developer has plans for Drawbridge Inn

The Drawbridge Inn has been vacant since late last year.

A Fort Mitchell landmark that's been closed since December could become the site for a new upscale mixed-use development.  Commercial real estate developer Brandicorp says it plans to acquire the Drawbridge Hotel and Convention Center, also known as the Drawbridge Inn.

From hemp to religious freedom, new laws take effect in Kentucky

Tuesday marks 90 days since the Kentucky General Assembly adjourned its regular session for this year.  That means, under the state constitution, most laws will take effect.  

Among the new laws:  School districts can start deciding if they want to raise the compulsory attendance age; an administrative framework is being set up for growing hemp in Kentucky should that crop become legal; and drivers will be able to use electronic devices such as smart phones to provide proof of insurance.

City, County make progress on MSD workforce agreement

They've had their differences, but it looks like the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County are making progress on a plan to provide an adequate local workforce for the $3 billion project to modernize the Metropolitan Sewer District.
