Park Board Website/photo by Jim Barrett

The Cincinnati Park Board has decided to cancel Saturday’s Balluminaria at Eden Park because of the forecast for high winds.

Officials said in a release balloons like calmer wind speeds, in the single digits, especially for inflating in smaller areas such as Mirror Lake.  Wind speeds Saturday are predicted to be 20 plus miles per hour.

The park board said it doesn't want to risk the safety of the balloonists, staff or guests.

The event will not be rescheduled.
