With more than 20 years of journalism experience in the Greater Cincinnati market, Ann Thompson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her reporting. She has reported for WKRC, WCKY, WHIO-TV, Metro Networks and CBS/ABC Radio. Her work has been recognized by the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2011 A-P named her “Best Reporter” for large market radio in Ohio. She has won awards from the Association of Women in Communications and the Alliance for Women in Media. Ann reports regularly on science and technology in Focus on Technology.


She has reported from Japan and South Korea, Germany and Belgium as part of fellowships from the East-West Center and RIAS.

Ohioans still underwater

The number of underwater residential properties is declining nationally, but a new report shows Ohio is still in the top six.

The latest RealtyTrac U.S. Home Equity & Underwater report shows 9.3 million U. S. residential properties were deeply underwater, meaning, they are worth at least 25% less than the combined loans secured by the property.

Cincinnati Art Museum looking for new director

After seven years Aaron Betsky is leaving as Director of the Cincinnati Art Museum. He says he will explore other academic and museum opportunities. "The museum now has the programming and staff in place, and the financial stability that will allow me to openly pursue my next position."

The museum says its Board will be setting up a search committee and Betsky will help pick his successor. Betsky, an architect, came to Cincinnati in 2006 from Rotterdam, where he was the Director of the Netherlands Architecture Institute.

Greater Dayton doesn't get 'drone' test site

The FAA has announced its six national test sites that will develop unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and they do not include  Greater Dayton. The sites will conduct critical research into the certification and operational requirements necessary to safely integrate UAS into the national airspace over the next several years.

CVG trying to right itself in 2014 and beyond

In its heyday the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport saw Delta offer 670 daily flights with direct service to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Rome and Paris.  But that was 2005 and this is now.

Today passenger flights total 178 a day with one international flight to Paris.
