Suspect in custody following shooting at Dayton VA Medical Center

UPDATE:

Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl says the suspect is 59-year-old Neil Moore, a former VA housekeeping employee. The victim is 61-year-old Paul Burnside. He is a VA employee. The shooting took place in a basement break room at the VAMC as Burnside struggled with Moore. It is uncertain if the two knew each other.

A gun, described as a revolver by the FBI, has been found in the suspect's vehicle and is believed to be the weapon in question.

Cincinnati researching ways to curb sex trafficking

Cincinnati Council could vote Wednesday on two motions to crackdown on prostitution.  Both measures would focus more attention on the "johns" instead of the women involved.

Residents are giving mixed reactions to temporary barricades on McMicken Street that were setup to stop people from cruising for prostitutes.  Tony Walsh with the West McMicken Improvement Association said things have gotten better.  He called the barricades a drastic measure.

Civil rights lawyer to run as independent for juvenile court

Jennifer Branch, a civil rights lawyer who represented Judge Tracie Hunter in her legal battle to win a Hamilton County Juvenile Court judgeship, will file petitions to run as an independent against Judge John Williams this fall.

Williams is the Republican judge whom Hunter defeated in 2011 after a long battle in federal court over the counting of provisional ballots. He was later appointed to a vacancy on the juvenile court.
