Reds now know when and where for start of divisional playoff games

The Reds will be heading to San Francisco to face the Giants for the start of the National League Division Series this weekend.  Cincinnati is the number two seed in the National League after the Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies this afternoon to take the top spot.  The Reds first game against the Giants will be Saturday night at 9:37.

Obama, Romney camps have debate watch parties here

The campaigns of both President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are holding watch parties in Cincinnati for the first of three presidential debates tonight.


The Romney supporters will gather at the campaign's Westwood Victory Center at 2300 Montana Ave., suite 420, at 6 p.m.


Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory will join the Obama watch party at 8 p.m. at the Organizing for America office, 5846 Hamilton Ave., College Hill.

Cincinnati Council to consider zone change for project near XU

Cincinnati Council will likely approve a zoning change Wednesday needed for a mixed use development near the Xavier University campus. 

The 20-acre site is located at the corner of Dana Avenue and Montgomery Road in Evanston. 

Liz Blume is the Executive Director of the Community Building Institute, which is a partnership involving Xavier. 

She said the development will include apartment housing for students plus retail and office space.

Overnight campers among the first to vote early Tuesday

About 50 to 60 people – most of them clearly supporters of President Obama – were the first to file into the Hamilton County Board of Elections early this morning to cast the first ballots in Ohio’s early voting period.


Many of them had spent the night in tents and sleeping on lawn chairs on a night of off-and-on rain to be among the first in line.


The line of people stretched from the door of the board at 824 Broadway to the Hamilton County Family Courts building at 800 Broadway.
