Making Cincinnati city data more available

The city of Cincinnati, like many government institutions, collects a vast amount of data.  But public access to that information has been limited or not user friendly.  

Interim City Manager Scott Stiles has approved an administrative rule change to make it easier.

“The information that’s going to be shared belongs to all the citizens of Cincinnati,” Stiles said.  “They own it, we want them to be able to use it in the best ways possible.”

His office will soon begin meeting with city departments to explain the new policy.

Top 50 historic Cincinnati sites named

More than 17,000 votes have been counted and the results are in. Here are the Cincinnati Preservation Associations's top 50 historic buildings in Cincinnati.

Executive Director Paul Muller says more than 150 buildings were nominated.

The Delta Queen topped the list with 2302 votes followed by the Administration Building at God's Bible School & College with 1725 votes.

Jeb Bush headed to Cincy in June for high-dollar GOP fundraiser

One potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate, Sen. Rand Paul, was in Cincinnati Friday night; and another is coming in June - former Florida governor Jeb Bush, for a private fundraising event at the Queen City Club.

According to the invitation obtained by WVXU, Bush will be here for high-priced fundraiser for the Republican National Committee (RNC). RNC chairman Reince Priebus will also be on hand.

Cincinnati's one trash container policy may be changing

Cincinnati officials will likely amend a controversial policy put in place last fall which limited most households to one container of trash per week. 

Gerald Checco with Public Services said the city is not ready to implement those new waste regulations anyway.  He said his department will be working on amendments.  He made a presentation Monday to city council’s neighborhood committee.

The changes would let some households have more than one container as long as it can be picked up by the city's automated trash trucks.
