Bengals aiming to break playoff drought

Andy Dalton has helped produce back-to-back playoff appearances in his two years as starting quarterback.

As the Bengals head to Houston to face the Texans in a Wild Card playoff game Saturday, they'll be looking for more success than they've had the past few years when they lost both their opening round games. 

Chick Ludwig is the host of the Monday Morning Quarterback Show on Fox Sports 1360.  He likes the Bengals chances of moving ahead this year, even though they're playing the same team that ousted them last year.

Cincinnati gets more federal money for firefighters

The Cincinnati Fire Department is getting another nearly $6 million federal grant to hire 40 additional firefighters.  

The money will fund salaries for 2 years.  

In the last several years the number of Cincinnati firefighters has been shrinking because of retirements and resignations.

Jimmy John's Coming to The Banks

Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches is coming to the Banks.  A release  from the development team of Carter and The Dawson Company says it will open in April on the south block of Freedom Way.   “The addition of Jimmy John’s helps round out the ‘something for everyone’ atmosphere at The Banks,” said Scott Stringer, Executive Vice President at Carter. “It will be another great option for those who are downtown looking for lunch or something quick.”

Dayton International adding flights

Dayton International Airport is adding daily non-stop service to New York's LaGuardia Airport. Delta is adding the flights.

In a release, Jeffrey Hoagland, President and CEO of the Dayton Development Coalition says, "This is great news for the business community in the Dayton Region. A lot of hard work went into making this flight possible again. It’s good when the region comes together to work on a common issue."

Cincy Democrats partying here for inauguration

While Democrats in Washington are attending the inaugural balls on January 21, Cincinnati area Democrats will be holding their own celebration of President Obama's inauguration at a downtown bar.


Cincy's on Sixth, at the corner of East Sixth and Walnut streets, will be the scene of a $20-a-head "Partiers for Obama" inauguration party, beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 21 - seven hours after President Obama is sworn in for a second term on the west steps of the U.S. Capitol.
