Cincinnati Archdiocese debuts vision for schools

Superintendent Jim Rigg outlines the Archdiocese's vision as students from St. Vivian School listen.

With students about to head back to classes, the Cincinnati Archdiocese is laying out its vision for the future.

This is the first-ever unified education plan for the 114-school diocese.

Superintendent Jim Rigg says preserving the Catholic identity is a top priority.

Paul Ryan will come to Miami Wednesday

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan

The Miami University College Republicans Facebook page says Paul Ryan is coming to his alma mater tomorrow.

Doors open at 3:30 for the 5:30 event on the Miami University Engineering Quad. Parking is at Millet Hall. The Facebook page also has a link for tickets. https://www.facebook.com/MiamiCRs 

Ryan, the newly announced Republican Vice Presidential candidate, graduated from Miami in 1992.

Museum Center earns top accreditation

Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal

The Cincinnati Museum Center is being recognized for excellence among museums.

It is now accredited by the American Association of Museums, an honor it says only 4.5 percent of museums nationwide achieve.

The museum had to conduct a year-long self study and pass a site visit. It generally takes three years to complete the process.

The Museum Center earned high marks for its youth programs and annual Learning Through Play conference.

The Cincinnati Art Museum, the Taft Museum of Art and the Zoo are also on the accredited list.

Thirty-thousand people are expected at this weekend's Cincy Blues Fest. Here's a preview of what you can expect on the 20th anniversary of the event.

Duke Robillard is no stranger to the blues business. For nearly a half century the guitar player has been building his fan base playing in bands like "Roomful of Blues" and "The Fabulous Thunderbirds." He's one of the headliners and will perform tomorrow night at Cincy Blues Fest. Spokeswoman Mary Beth Weaver says no matter when you come this weekend you'll be entertained on four stages at Sawyer Point.
