Cincinnati Council approves borrowing money to move shelters

Update:  The $7 million Cincinnati is borrowing to relocate homeless shelters will only be used for two projects and not three as earlier reported.  

Council Member Chris Seelbach said City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr. mis-spoke Wednesday when he said the funds would benefit three shelters.

Pot bust believed to be Butler County's largest

The Butler County Sheriff's Department shows off it's recent pot haul

Two people are jailed following a huge seizure of marijuana in Butler County. Sgt. Monte Mayer said it is believed to be the largest in county history. Police confiscated 900 pounds of pot worth $1.1 million. Mayer says the bust happened Tuesday night.


The Sheriff's Department believes the shipment originated in Mexico.  The Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce intercepted the shipment and made a "controlled delivery" of the shipment to an empty storefront in 4700 of Industry Drive in Fairfield.

Obama's Ohio win closer this time, but a win is a win

Four years ago, politicos on both sides were stunned when the formerly rock-solid Hamilton County was won by Barack Obama by a margin of 29,683 votes, taking 54 percent of the county to 46 percent for GOP nominee John McCain.

This year, the GOP and the Romney-Ryan campaign rolled the dice on winning back Hamilton County, one of the handful of linchpin counties that can make or break a presidential campaign in Ohio.

Again, though, they lost.

Pillich tops Wilson in OH House race

Connie Pillich defeated Mike Wilson in the Ohio House 28th district race

Incumbent Ohio House Democrat Connie Pillich faced a bit of an uphill battle after her seat was redistricted but she was re-elected last night over Republican Mike Wilson.

Pillich says veteran's issues and education are key issues for her. She says education was by far the biggest concern she heard from constituents too.
