Cincinnati will extend SORTA funding for another month

The ongoing dispute between Cincinnati and the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority about the use of the city’s transit fund is still dragging on. 


Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls spoke during a special Budget and Finance Committee meeting Tuesday.


"Members of the committee may remember that we passed a one-month budget for SORTA a number weeks ago," Qualls said.  "This is another one month budget for the period of February."


The city argues the fund can be used for any transit purpose.

Register for a chance at Reds' Opening Day tickets

April 1 is the Cincinnati Reds' Opening Day; and if you want a shot at buying tickets, you can register online for a February drawing.

According to the Reds, winners will be drawn in mid-February and will then have the opportunity to buy up to four tickets for the Opening Day game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Local entrepreneurs see economic rebound

A recent survey conducted by The Entrepreneurs' Organization indicates 62 percent of Cincinnati-area entrepreneurs think they'll see increased net profits in 2013.  Forty-one percent of those surveyed expect to hire more full-time employees, while 50 percent expect to hire more part-time workers.

The survey included 43 Cincinnati-area companies with at least $1 million in annual revenue.  Overall, the average respondent grosses $3.4 million in revenue.

CVG adding nonstop flight to Denver

Frontier Airlines says it's going to start nonstop service from Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport to Denver later this year.  The new service will begin May 17.  Frontier's first flight from Denver will arrive at CVG the evening of May 16. 

Frontier is a low-cost airline that operates from a primary hub at Denver International Airport.

The new flight will depart CVG at 6:15 a.m. and arrive in Denver at 7:15 a.m. daily except Sundays.

It'll depart Denver at 6:59 p.m. and arrive at CVG  at 11:35 p.m. daily except Saturdays.
